Happy Valley & Sha Tin Racecourses
In the early 1990s Ultra-Tech supplied new control gear for cutting-edge high wattage Metal Halide lamps at the Happy Valley and Sha Tin racecourses. With a unique compact design, 1800 sets of the gear remained in service until 2014 – again demonstrating the longevity and reliability of Ultra-Tech equipment.
For the 2014 refurbishment we developed a hybrid ballast system with a unique coupling of two separate purpose-built ballasts that operate in conjunction with third party supplied systems to save energy. In addition, the ballasts provide a fail-safe solution to keep lamps operating during maintenance on other system components. We also recommended and supplied surge suppression components for the 2000 new sets of control gear.
